Specialties
After several years of practice in treatment I have developed an expertise in addressing these issues below:
depression.
Life brings adversity, stressors, and demands that leave an impression on us. Some of these experiences are not always easy to handle, often causing consistent negative emotions (feelings of sadness, shame, frustration, embarrassment, loneliness, grief) to arise. In therapy, we will focus on exploring these feelings, developing your ideal vision of your life, and taking steps toward getting you to feel like yourself again.
Anxiety.
Each day we are faced with many decisions that we must make. Considering the hundreds, upon thousands, of possibilities that can come from one choice, it’s normal for one to feel stuck, overwhelmed, or fearful. In therapy, we find ways to help you get back to a place of stability and confidence. From there we explore the dilemma you’re currently facing, identify where you need to build further awareness, determine how best to cope through the challenge, and how best to adjust to the possible outcomes.
Life Transition.
Over the years, life will have you venture through different roles and different phases. Many challenges that will demand you to become something or someone new. These challenges will invite feelings of stress, discomfort, and doubt. In therapy, we will explore these feelings, determine what you need to flourish in your new circumstances, and build beyond your imagination.
Trauma.
There are things in our lives that we experience that can make it hard for us to feel accepted, secure in our relationships with others, or happy. In therapy, we will practice skills for coping, emotional expression, and managing our thoughts to better prepare for exploring these experiences. We will then be able to discuss the impact they have had on you and the adjustments needed to overcome their effects.
